Year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act. I was nominated by my colleagues to join a collaborative group of scholars and practitioners to celebrate the 50th anniversary in lieu of my commitment to species conservation, the application of sound public policy to defend biological diversity for future generations, and the elevation of diverse voices in support of nature and the values it brings to all Americans.

Through this collaborative group, we have been visiting species recovery centers and went to Washington D.C. to meet with legislative staff, congresspeople, and for the 50th anniversary of the ESA celebration.
